Jonathan Blythe FCA
I trained with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) in Birmingham and worked for Stoy Hayward for five years before setting up Blythe & Co in 1987.
I am responsible for all aspects of the business and our philosophy is to keep things simple and understandable.
I enjoy the direct client contact and one of my primary roles is to meet regularly with everyone in the practice to ensure that we have the capacity and the IT development to satisfy existing and new clients!

I have worked with Blythe & Co since 1996. I qualified having started my training with Grant Thornton and having had a great spell in Spain with Coopers & Lybrand. I achieved the Fellowship of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2001.
I run my own company with my husband but continue to provide support at management level to Blythe & Co in the following areas: business formation and structure, year end planning and accounts, corporation tax, VAT and payroll, systems design and implementation and software training
It is a complex world and I enjoy the challenge!

I have worked with Blythe & Co since September 1996. I trained in London with Price Waterhouse before specialising in taxation. I was a senior tax manager when I left to start a family.
My work at Blythe & Co covers all the technical tax areas in particular personal, partnership and business tax. I also prepare Accounts for Limited Companies, Partnerships and the Self Employed.
I joined the firm in June 1999. For 15 years I was a Publicity Assistant in feature films. I now manage the office at Blythe & Co – I’m probably the one answering the phone! I am the trained First Aid Officer(!) and in fact there are few things I am not responsible for.
I’m as surprised as everyone else that I can do the work and that I enjoy it! I’m learning every day and although I doubt I’ll take the exams – you never know…
I joined the firm in April 2003 – with a maths degree I was bound to end up here! I have spent many years in a number of offices but I have also been at the coal face as a production manager in a printing firm.
I normally work for four days a week and if you run a limited company – I am probably looking after it. There is plenty to do and it is good to see the clients developing.

It is difficult to say exactly when I joined the firm but I have been working for Blythe& Co on and off since 1991 following a career as an investment manager with Eagle Star (now Columbia Threadneedle Investments).
My work at Blythe & Co is mainly on the personal tax side. But as a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner I also help with the taxation of trusts and assist clients with probate matters including estate Inheritance Tax Returns.
